Palex

PALEX Aqueous Film Forming Foam (AFFF) 3% & 6% is a specially formulated firefighting foam concentrate designed for rapid suppression of Class B hydrocarbon fuel fires. The foam forms a thin aqueous film over the fuel surface, suppressing flammable vapors and creating an expanded foam blanket that helps prevent reignition.

The concentrate is highly effective on hydrocarbon fuels such as gasoline, diesel, kerosene, aviation fuels, and other non-polar hydrocarbon liquids.

PALEX AFFF provides excellent vapor suppression, rapid flame knockdown, superior burn-back resistance, and enhanced post-fire security. It can be used with both fresh water and seawater, making it suitable for industrial, marine, aviation, and petrochemical applications.

5. Foaming Properties

Performance Characteristics

PALEX AFFF concentrate can be applied using most conventional foam discharge equipment at a dilution rate of 3% or 6% with fresh water, salt water, or hard water.

For optimum performance, water hardness should not exceed 500 ppm expressed as calcium and magnesium.

Expansion Ratios

Aspirating Foam Devices

  • Typical foam expansion ratio: 6:1 to 12:1

Non-Aspirating Foam Devices

  • Typical foam expansion ratio: 2:1 to 4:1

Foam expansion performance depends on discharge equipment type, flow rate, operating pressure, and foam proportioning accuracy.
